Povetacicept对 T、B 淋巴细胞及巨噬细胞等免疫细胞有高亲和力。当免疫系统受病原体入侵或自身免疫失衡时，Povetacicept 迅速结合 BAFF 和 APRIL，阻断它们与细胞表面受体的作用，抑制免疫细胞过度活化，防止免疫过激。临床前研究显示，Povetacicept 能调节多种自身免疫和炎症疾病动物模型的异常免疫反应。在系统性红斑狼疮模型中减少自身抗体，缓解器官损伤；在干燥综合征研究中减轻腺体炎症，改善症状；在类风湿关节炎研究里抑制关节损伤，减轻肿痛和骨质侵蚀，对相关疾病研究和新药研发意义重大。
