CA19-9是胰腺癌和结、直肠癌的标志物，血清癌抗原19-9可作为胰腺癌，胆囊癌等恶性肿瘤的辅助诊断指标。胚胎期胎儿的胰腺、胆囊、肝、肠等组织存在这种抗原，正常人体组织中含量很低；在消化道恶性肿瘤，尤其是胰腺癌、胆囊癌病人血清中，癌抗原19-9含量明显增高，但早期诊断价值不大，主要作为病情监测和预示复发的指标。此外，对消化道疾病鉴别诊断（如胰腺癌与胰腺炎。胃癌与胃溃疡）亦有一定价值。
